i spoke with a born again today.
i am wondering if this person represents how they all think or just some.
i'll assume just some.
Another 'born-again' here - and no I don't believe all JWs are going to hell either
As far as I'm concerned, if as individuals, they call on the name of the Lord, and they believe in Christ's sacrifice (however warped in our eyes the WTS doctrines on these seem to be!) and that's all they need to do to be saved. If the individual is genuine then the rest - repentance and living a life dedicated to God - will follow naturally.
And other than that, not one human being can say which other human being will be going to hell. I hope this gives you some reassurance
Well the only reason I'm hot is cos I'm sitting next to a radiator - hope that'll do
Thank you dawg!
what was going through this officer's head when they did this?!.
i suppose they could have thought the guy was pretending.

Wow, Burn - some of those guys had serious attitude problems!
All I can say is I'm now glad we have the Independent Police Complaints Authority over here - and its often the Police themselves who call them in especially if any death/injury is caused by police or happens during custody. Many don't rate the IPCA, saying they themselves are in the police's pockets, but it sure seems to beat the system you have Stateside!

The original and best:
If anything can go wrong, it will.
when i was almost seven, we moved from the gulf coast town of mobile, alabama to morgan city, louisiana.
on brashear avenue, which was also highway 90, the gulf coast hwy, going towards the now old atchafalaya bridge, there was a shrimp boat in the middle of the road called the spirit of morgan city.
at christmas time they decorated it with a santa on the front and his reindeer out front, as if it were santa's mode of transportation through cajun country, rather than his regular sleigh.
We had one of these years before the French 'invented' them!! (Could do with putting it back into active service too!)
The town centre
Wainhouse tower - was a working factory chimney, but the owner had a staircase built to the top between the flue and outer wall - allegedly so he could spy on the neighbouring mill owner! View from the top is fantastic and its said that on an absolutely clear day, you can see Blackpool Tower.
i just disassociated myself after nine long years in the wtbts after researching the history of the wtbts and its founders and their lies, false prophecies and mind-control doctrines.
read my profile for more about that.
anyway, i'm glad there is a wonderful support group for those who have escaped the grasp of the wtbts and enjoy life again without the constant fear that the wtbts instills at every meeting.
Welcome!

you hear about prayers all the time in most religions, including jehovah's witlesses.
and they point to scriptures about how god answered specific prayers as evidence that he is ready to answer your prayers.
there will be a study article in the february 2008 kool-aid for those who have to attend the boasting session (and a comments you will not hear for those who don't).. now, i am going to analyze what this has to do with your prayers.
You posed it as a question your brother asked and then say "I have still no idea how he knew that." so which is it? did he ask a question or did he make a statement that he had advanced knowledge of the church praying for him?
Actually it is a no brainer if you ask me,, your his brother(clue#1) he has a 20% chance of survival(clue#2), and you religiously go to church(clue#3) seems like a perfectly plausible question he might ask of you with absolutely no hint of divine knowledge given him as to the goings on in your church prayer request which is relatively common in many churches.
frankie - on the first point it was probably bad wording and lack of info on my part and a bit of reading too much into it on your part
He did ask me the question, but (as I know my brother much better than you) it was in such a manner that he knew that he had been prayed for - he was asking for confirmation that what he believed had happened and when I told him that they had been praying he told me he knew they had - which is why I wrote I don't know how he knew. Maybe making a statement of knowledge by posing a question is a British thing that you aren't as familiar with, we're weird like that you know!
On the second point, no it wasn't a plausible question for him to ask - at the most, he might expect me to pray for him, but not other people at church who he has never even met - again, its not a typically 'British' thing to do, or expect someone else to do. we don't tend to do 'in your face' religion over here lol! It tends to be a more private thing.
